Responsive and adaptive web design are two approaches for designing across a range of devices. Responsive design utilizes one layout, while the content, navigation and elements of a page fit a user’s screen whether it is a desktop, laptop, tablet or smartphone. It is more fluid than adaptive design where different fixed layouts are created that adapt to a user’s screen size.
